Time for a Transition to Cloud 2.0

Cloud computing has helped businesses attain success without having to invest a fortune on IT infrastructure. However, the idea about Cloud's evolution is still not clear to many executives as the topic of Cloud 2.0 has come in question; Is it time for a transition to Cloud 2.0?

At present, public cloud computing is influenced by the XaaS models - software-as-a-service (SaaS), platform-as-a-service (PaaS), and infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS). Some enterprises are also experimenting with private clouds.

"Cloud 2.0 is exemplified in one word: hybrid. Cloud computing will offer its most compelling advantages when organizations can combine private clouds and public clouds (XaaS) in IT architectures that stretch the definition of flexibility and agility" says Jeffrey Kaplan, managing director of ThinkStrategies, a cloud consultancy.
