Google added Labpixies, the web and mobile application publisher to its acquisition kitty on Tuesday. Labpixies was one of the first companies to create a gadget for iGoogle back in 2005. In the past few years, the two companies worked together on a variety of projects, including the launch of a number of global OpenSocial based gadgets. Google officially announced their acquisition of Labpixies and exclaimed that they would be happy to work as a team.
According to Dan Loeb from the iGoogle team, the Labpixies team will be based in Google's Tel Aviv office and will focus on iGoogle efforts across Europe, Middle East, and Africa. Labpixies says that the acquisition is a mutual learning opportunity to bring more apps to users, help developers and improve the overall developer ecosystem.
