Study: Who Wants an iPad

A study by the NPD, found that 51% of potential buyers of the iPad prefer a traditional laptop to the iPad. The survey also found that 44% of existing users of Apple's products do not like the tablet design of the iPad.

In spite of the touchscreen computer costing less, 57% of the potential buyers objected to Apple's minimum entry cost of $499, while for existing Apple consumers, the percentage was higher at 43%. Most of the people who wish to purchase the iPad, want to use it for playing songs, videos and movies and other typical uses. Only 18% of the entire group had serious plans of buying the iPad.
