According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, Research In Motion (RIM) is planning to launch a touchscreen version of its BlackBerry device. This device may have a slide-out keyboard and will run on BlackBerry's new operating system Blackberry OS6. Some of the news OS features include swiping and pinching, and a new browser. RIM has already announced its plans of releasing the Blackberry OS 6 by the end of September this year.
Data from Nielsen has shown that RIM is still the leader in the smartphone market with a 35% marketshare in the first quarter of 2010. Apple is second with 28%, with Windows Mobile with 19%, and Android devices with 9%.
