iPhone OS 4.0 To Release This Week

Apple has announced that it will unveil its next iPhone OS version 4.0 this week on April 8. The event will be held at the company's headquarters in Cupertino, California. Along with the new OS, Apple is also expected to release a new version of its iPhone model.

The 4.0 software update will support multitasking of all third-party apps on the App Store. The present iPhone OS 3.1.3 allows only multitasking of native apps. The iPad runs on a customized version of iPhone OS version 3.2. iPhone OS 2.0 was the only other version to have supported third-party apps natively with the App Store.
