NorthStar Travel Media approached WS to create mobile optimized website solutions for their travel magazine, Travel weekly (http://www.travelweekly.com/), which was built on an Ektron content management system. North Star wanted their Seven various different websites to all run on desktop, smartphones and tablet browsers to offer their clients a seamless user experience. They also wanted to develop many custom news and publication widgets to simplify their internal content management process for their employees. Along with that, they needed daily maintenance support for their various sites to maintain their quality standards. They also approached WS to provide testing and quality assurance services for majority of their microsites.

Based on the exceptional work implemented for Travel weekly US, WS also was awarded the opportunity to work for the Travel weekly Asia (TWA) and Travel weekly China (TWC), Successful magazine, Incentive Magazine and Meeting Conventions web Site as well. For those sites, WS redefined how content was managed by creating tools, widgets and workflows which allowed their teams to manage new and existing content in a much more efficient way.

Along side the already mentioned partnerships; WS also managed various design requests for UI/UX for different sections (frontend as well as Ektron CMS). Along with this, WS also created monthly newsletters for their various marketing campaigns. WS worked closely with their marketing departments to create newsletter campaigns that ultimately reached thousands of their clients around the world.

  • Also another challenge was implementing embedded ramp videos maintaining the page load and video load time for different web browser and mobile environment

Solution Highlights

  • Web Spiders used Ghostlab setup for Mobile responsive testing to accommodate different mobile devices with one common URL generated by Ghostlab to check the performance side by side to get desired test results.
  • Different color and text for the image content can be managed from CMS.
  • Different article managed such a way like configured article can be published in future and also can be removed after a time period from site and transferred to archive.
  • Implementations like News and Publication Widgets, Webinars and Promos, Hotel and cruise booking details, Photo galleries and Video Galleries, embedded ramp videos are actually some of the key implementation.
